Clinton River Cleanup
At PTI Engineered Plastics, we are big believers in environmental protection and waste reduction of our natural resources. In a continuing effort to give back to the planet, PTI employees volunteer at the Clinton River Cleanup every September, picking up debris, removing invasive species, and stenciling storm drains. The Clinton Clean-Up, sponsored by the Clinton River Watershed Council, is an annual campaign whose success depends on the combined effort of hundreds of individuals, businesses, local governments, and community organizations.
Disabled American Veterans
DAV is the most long-lasting veterans advocacy and assistance group in the United States. They are committed to empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity.
In an effort to support this legacy, Team PTI generously donated items to those who bravely served our country. Donations collected included: clothing, kitchenware, appliances, toys, technology, jewelry, and furniture.

First Robotics Team
PTI sponsors young people to be science and technology leaders. Yearly, we sponsor a robotics team from our community. These events teach students important life skills. FIRST was started in 1989 to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology.NULL
Holiday Pantry Project
PTI employees again participated in the “Holiday Pantry Project” to aid the hundreds of people seeking food assistance. Employees’ enthusiastically contributed canned and dried food packages for those who were experiencing hunger and hardship.
Macomb County Community Recycling Day
Did you know that over 230 million tons of garbage is produced annually in the United States -- That is equivalent to 4.5 pounds per person, per day! In an effort to promote a clean community and a positive community identity, PTI Engineered Plastics, in cooperation with Great Lakes Recycling, hosted a recycling day for Macomb County this September.
PTI is a proud sponsor and host of Manufacturing Day held in October each year around the country.
Manufacturing Day is a national campaign designed to increase awareness about the important role manufacturing plays in our economy. The goal of Manufacturing Day is to dispel misperceptions that manufacturing is dirty, dangerous and financially unrewarding, and hopes to reduce the shortage of skilled labor by connecting manufacturers with future generations.
Raffle for Charity
With so many families in need PTI adopted a family through the St. Kieran’s Church Sponsor-a-Family-for-Christmas Program. Two beautiful food baskets were assembled and raffled to employees to raise the funds needed to provide this family from food to shoes for the holiday.
Relay For Life
PTI is a proud sponsor of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life event held each spring in Shelby Township Michigan.
Relay for Life is a signature fundraising events for the American Cancer Society, supporting local patient service programs like “Road to Recovery” and “Look Good Feel Good” as well as providing funding for research grants awarded each year to scientists and students dedicated to discovering new treatments and the potential cure for cancer.
Relay for Life is held in 5,200 communities in the United States and 27 countries around the world. The first Relay for Life was held in 1985, and since that time nearly $5 billion dollars has been raised for the fight against cancer. For more information visit www.cancer.org.
Tara Grant 5K Walk & Run
PTI Employees participate in The Tara Grant Run/Walk, which began in 2007 as a way for Tara’s family to use her legacy to raise awareness of domestic violence. The event kicks off National Domestic Violence Month in October.
Walk for Warmth
PTI continues to recognize the financial struggles of residents in Macomb County, especially during the winter months. Employees participate in the Walk for Warmth, which benefits the Macomb County Community Services Agency. Proceeds from this event are used to assist county residents with their heating bills and repairs to dangerous or malfunctioning furnaces. Walkers are required to collect pledges to participate in the event.
Winter Giving Tree
In a continuing effort to keep our community in need warm this winter, PTI, again placed a “Winter Giving Tree” in the facility during the holidays where employees’ could hang their donations of new hats, mittens, gloves, and scarves, for all ages.
